The Tradition

The Camporeale Farm is the expression today of a long tradition of winemakers that is located in the Classic area of Valpolicella. Mario, rich in the experience gained over the years thanks to the teachings handed down by his grandparents and fathers, today proposes himself to customers with a company in which the tradition of the past and the art of knowing how to renew themselves are combined, managing to maintain ties with their land and to enhance the crops, flavors and specific tastes of the territory. Tradition and modernity in a perfect combination, make the wines of the company that produces them “unique and typical”.

The company

The vineyards of Mario Lavarini’s company are located in the Classic area of Valpolicella, in two locations with different territorial typologies. A part of these is located in the hilly area of Marano di Valpolicella in Camporeale at about 350 meters above sea level, with brown soil of partly volcanic and partly alluvial origin, exposed to the rays of the sun from dawn to dusk, from which they are drawn Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella grapes destined for the production of Recioto Classico and Amarone Classico. The other part is located in the foothills in Arbizzano di Negrar at about 85 meters above sea level, where the clayey soils favor the Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grapes that the company uses for the production of the Valpolicella Classico wine.

The land

The vineyards of Mario Lavarini’s company are located in the Classic area of Valpolicella, in two locations with different territorial types. A part of these is located in the hilly area of Marano di Valpolicella in Camporal at about 350 meters above sea level, with brown soil of partly volcanic and partly alluvial origin, exposed to the rays of the sun from dawn to dusk, from which they are drawn. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella grapes destined for the production of Recioto Classico and Amarone Classico. The withering

The best grapes, perfectly healthy, are harvested manually, placed in boxes of about 5 kg and transported to the loft where they remain for 3/4 months for drying. This drying environment is kept very ventilated and with controlled humidity, in order to obtain perfect drying every year. The initial weight of the grapes decreases by about 40%: thus a high sugar concentration remains in the grapes. From these highly concentrated grapes, Amarone and Recioto will then be born.
